Autumn Shades

Autumn announces itself

With an embarrassed cough,

Its crisp breath dancing with

Amber, umber, tawny leaves

As swift shadows set on early

Eves, shaving the days,

Inch by Inch.

Pray find some solace

In the coldness of the gale,

In the wistful greys and warm,

Windswept colours fluttering,

In another harvest done

In another summer seen,

In another season in its lush,

Vivacious death march.
